I got my Ph.D. and became a ”docent” (associate professor) in psychology at the University of Stockholm in 1965, was temporary professor of psychology at the universities of Lund and Uppsala 1966-68 and tenured full professor at the University of Göteborg 1970-88, at the Stockholm School of Economics 1988-2005. At the SSE I am also Head of its Center for Risk Research. I have been a visiting professor at the Universities of California, Berkeley campus (1968-69), and Stanford University (1988-89), and at the Dutch research institute NIAS and the Belgian institute EIASM. I was a member of the research council in Sweden in several mandate periods, and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Swedish Psychological Association. At the present I am active in the Risk Research Group of the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. I am also adjunct professor in the Center for Risk Psychology, Environment and Community Safety at  the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. I am a licensed psychologist. I am a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Royal Norwegian Acadmy of Sciences and Letters, Noway´s oldest academy.  I am an associate editor of the Journal of Risk Research and a member of the editorial board of two more scientific journals. I do research in social psychology (attitudes, risk perception) and personality (emotional intelligence, personality testing), with a quantitative orientation. I am interested in almost everything. I also take part in public debate in media and popular scientific magazines. Many articles in English can be downloaded from the homepage, or write a mail and ask for a reprint. Some of my writings are in Swedish and they can be found in the Swedish version of the present home page.

Discussions about current issues in psyhological research can be found at my blog (mostly in Swedish) : http://lennartsjoberg.blogspot.com/
